This site once served as a crossroads for farmers from the Shenandoah Valley and tradesmen from the busy port of Alexandria. A nineteenth-century gristmill and miller’s house are on the site. The property also has an early-twentieth-century general store where you can still buy items ground at the mill.
In the spring there’s an Easter egg hunt; in the fall, a Halloween program that includes making scarecrows; at holiday time in December, a shopping weekend. And during the summer there are programs every day of the week for children ages 3 to 10, such as puppet shows and ice cream making.
