The views are absolutely breath taking! It was wonderful to see the mountains, the sky and the coordinating nature. The colors were fabulous. My children were completely amazed. The heights are a little overwhelming, so if you are afraid of heights...beware. It serves as a beautiful backdrop to some wonderful family photos!!!!!
We liked the Colorado National Monument, but we visited Arches NP and Canyonlands NP in Utah afterward, which were much more exciting. I was fascinated by the eastern Colorado landscape and had fun comparing and contrasting it to the Front Range (western side of the Rockies). There are some very intersting formations in the monument, and a great car tour. My son participated in the Junior Ranger program, which he loves at all NPS sites.
