What a fun place to go! What kids don't like butterflies? Just make sure that you're okay with them flying around and maybe even landing on your heads or hats! They are beautiful and feel quite at home with you walking through their little home. It is a one-of-a-kind experience to be so close to them. I also enjoyed the chrysalis and larvae that you could see in their stages. We will take the boys back again!
Last year we went to the Cockrell Butterfly Center with our kiddos. The Center is filled with hundreds of beautiful butterfly species. The butterflies sometimes even land on your arm or shoulder. It's amazing! The Center is air-conditioned, but where the butterflies live it is hot and humid (even in the winter), so be sure to wear lighting or layered clothing.
Very informative exhibit with lots of interactive fun for the kids. The actual butterfly room is multi level, beautiful to look at, and also quite humid and hot to go on a hot summer day. Any other time of the year it makes for a lovely day outing. The kids are sure to touch some butterflies and learn insects facts.
