"Lots of fun on a nice spring day!"

Who knew?  Just a few miles out off of Highway 10 in the Thousand Palms/Palm Desert area is a beautiful network of palm oases.

Parking is really easy at the Visitor's Center.  There is an oasis immediately past the front gate, so if there are people who have difficulty walking or wee ones, it is pretty accessible.  The preserve has just replaced the path/bridges running in and out of the palm trees at the oasis.  There are guided tours available.

For a little more hiking, check out the trails to the oasis outside of the immediate area.  The walk is easy in that there is no elevation gain.  It is on a dirt/sand path.  We easily walked it with my 10 month old in the backpack.  It is full sun with very minimal coverage, so please take heed on hot days and bring water.
