This is one of our favorite local parks. The playground is very large with fun and challenging equipment for kids of all stages. There are a couple of baby swings and small climb-on pieces for the littlest ones and a huge jungle-gym and slides for older kids.
Train rides, pontoon tours, and the carousel are always a hit. Buy a wristband because one ride is never enough. Mini-golf and a large public pool with waterslides are also on site.
In the fall, the foliage along the opposite shore is beautiful.
We've only been to City Lake Park a few times, but we've had a blast every time! There are plenty of tables for picnicking, and the train ride and carousel are affordable fun. I'd love to go back for an afternoon and spend some time walking around the park and seeing what else is there - I've heard there is much more than what we've seen!
What a quaint little park. There are picnic tables, shelters, and even a few rides for the little ones. There is no admission for the actual park, but you do have to pay if you decided to go to the water park side. There is a little train, and carousel for kids between the ages of 1-12. It would be a great place for a family reunion.
My little boy loves the train and the carousel at City Lake Park. For just $4.75, we can ride all day long! (Children under 3 ride for free with a paying adult.) They also have putt-putt (though we haven't played yet) and a great playground which is free to use. There are plenty of picnic shelters and lots of shade so it's never too hot!
