"Great Indoor/Outdoor Mall"

The City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City is a beautiful indoor/outdoor mall. Tons of underground parking, and you are covered overhead with a retractable roof, but still outside in that open "airy" feeling.

We always appreciate coming here on our road trips as there is lots to do. Our kids love all the fountains and the creek, and eating in the food court area is great as there are so many options to please everyone. Lots of clean bathrooms as well. There's also a large play area near the food court.

A lot of the shops are a little higher end, but we always hit up the Disney Store and walk around mostly to stretch our legs. The downtown SLC area where this mall is located is so clean and pretty as well. You are just across the street from the Temple Square.

"Outdoor mall, big play area"

So, I wouldn't say this was a bad place to take kids - there's quite a big play area inside the food court (near the back so it's not as caught up in the crowds). By big, I mean that there could probably be 30 kids at one time playing in there and they would be comfortable. It's basically a bunch of objects and obstacles in a carpeted area that the kids can climb on and around and slide down.

The good (and sometimes bad) thing about the mall area is that it's outdoors. I think kids love being outside, so on a spring or summer day, my little one liked the walk in the stroller. I wouldn't think of taking her in the winter though and spending much time - it's just too cold.

The food court aspect does make it easy, if you plan to eat there, to please even kid tastes (Mexican, Chinese, American, smoothies, etc.) they've got a little of everything.

"Nice shopping center"

This opened in March 2012, and is a beautiful city center. It is both an outdoor and indoor mall. They have more expensive stores, and appeals to all types of people. They have several office buildings and many great lunch places to eat. There is a man-made creek that runs through the entire shopping center. This is the place to be in Salt Lake! Kids adore the fountains.

"Magnificent shopping"

WOW. Beautiful everything. Beautiful creek that runs through the shopping center. It can be an indoor mall or outdoor, because of it's retractable roof. Has upscale stores as well as kid's stores. My kid's favorite store is the Disney Store. My kids love to watch the fountain shows, and love the food court. Parking is underground. I highly recommend shopping here. Kids love it!

"Gorgeous Shopping Center!"

This brand new shopping center in downtown Salt Lake is absolutely incredible! It's 2 city blocks long has a retractable ceiling that opens the mall up to the night sky, as well as a sky bridge. An actual creek runs through the middle, so not only is there great shopping, but the scenery is incredible. There are some pretty ritzy stores- Tiffany's, Restoration Hardware, Porshe- but on the flip side there's also more "normal" mall stores like Claire's and Macy's! The Disney store is a MUST if you have little girls. It's absolutely MAGICAL. It's a very hands-on store, so anticipate spending a bit of time in there {30-40 mins} to take it all in. There are several nice restraurants like the Cheesecake Factory and Blue Lemon, but if you have kiddos, I'd head to the food court. Prices are very reasonable and they have an incredible play area! This mall would be a fantastic place to take the kids!

"Beautiful Shopping Center, Fun for Families"

Yesterday my daughter and I went to the grand opening of City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake. It's a shopping center with lots of popular stores, many of which can't be found anywhere else in the state. It has outdoor walkways, but when the weather gets colder, a retractable roof covers them! There is a splash-pad like area for the kids to play in the fountains, as well as three larger fountains designed by the same guy who did the fountain at the Bellagio in Vegas. They have dancing water, music, and even fire! They are really fun to watch and my daughter was fascinated. There is also a man-made creek that runs through the whole center, which covers 2 large city blocks. It is a beautifully-designed shopping center. The shopping was fun for me and my baby girl loved walking around and watching the fountains! There are also plenty of places to eat, from fast food at the food court to little cafes and more upscale-restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory. City Creek Center is a great place for families!
