If I was vacationing in Hawaii, I would totally skip this. It's not very nice inside and kind of smells. By far the worst Chuck E. Cheese I've ever been to in my travels. We went once to a friend's birthday party but only because we lived there. The kids don't notice these types of things though, so if they don't matter to you, then by all means...
This Chuck E. Cheese is like most any other, the games are relatively the same as what you find at mainland venues and the price is the same - one coin per ride / play. Like most other Chuck E. Cheese restaurants, the food leaves something to be desired, and since the kids won't sit down and eat there anyway, why not eat at the McDonald's in the same strip mall and then walk over? That is what I have found my kids most definitely prefer to do. By not eating there, I find we are able to frequent there more often because we can get by on $10 for an hour of play.
As a side note, the Chuck E. Cheese stores in Hawaii hardly ever take the national promotions. It is always worth asking, but don't be surprised when the answer is no, we don't take those coupons. The tokens are the same, so you can always "mail off" the really good coupons to grandma and let her send goody bags of tokens back to the kids.
When I asked my daughter where she would like to celebrate her 4th birthday she immediately said Chuck E Cheese.
Making the reservation was very easy. The person who answered the phone was friendly, courteous and helpful. She was able to answer all my questions and even offered suggestions I hadn't thought of.
When arrived, everything was already in place. The food was good, the service was great, and the kids had a blast! The show, although a little corny for adults, really entertained the kids and got them on their feet dancing.
The best part was that I pretty much didn't have to lift a finger. They did the setup, cleanup, and everything in between. When some of our guests arrived late, they even warmed up the pizza for them! Now that's great service!
I also like that it's secured where every child is stamped with the same number as their parents so that no one can leave with the wrong child. This made me feel a little more comfortable letting my 7 year old roam around by herself.
I'm so glad that my daughter chose to have her birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I hope she wants to go there again next year!
