"Touch, Explore, and Play..." while learning about your world through the interactive exhibits and programs at The Children's Museum of South Carolina.
The children's museum in Myrtle Beach is great for a rainy day when you can't be on the beach. It's an ACM reciprocal museum, and they limited us to four free tickets (we have four kids, so we had to pay for the other two).
My kids--8 and 6-- really enjoyed the fossil hunt and art center. My 2-year-old loved the Clifford exhibit. The museum is on the small side, and would not be worth a long drive, but if you are in Myrtle Beach and looking for something fun to do with the 2-8 age group, it's worth a trip.
Armed with our home state children's museum reciprocal membership, we enjoyed many familiar sections of this museum (bubble area, etc). Just right for our then 3 yo son, as well as older niece and nephew who came along for the trip. Pizza delivery truck very fun, as are the boat, dress up area and of course the punch buggy! Awesome rainy day spot or just when you want a few hours out of the sun.
Took the kids here when it was raining one day. They had fun in the craft area, and although it looks small from the outside, it actually isn't once you get inside. Affordable and entertaining, I thought the kids would be bored, but they had a great time and asked to go back later in our trip.
Good time for the money, and the staff was really into the kids having fun. The craft room was lots of fun.
We go to this museum almost every time we are at the beach! The kids love the animals, the art area, and the medical office. One of their favorite exhibits is the raft. They also enjoy the Magic School Bus. The price is fabulous, $8 per person and under 1 is free. The location is very easy to find. A great rainy day beach activity!
