My kids LOVE this place.
We've been to several Children's Museums all around Michigan and that is by far his (and my) favorite.
They have tons of activities, role-playing, exploring, etc, and you can easily spend at least 2 hours playing and exploring.
If we lived in Grand Rapids, I would have a family Membership for the Gr Childrens Museum! It is so delightful and fun. They change the theme often so there is always something new and fun to do, as well as the stuff that is always there. They love the make believe aspect. Last spring there was a vet center and my 5 year old daughter spent an hour caring for stuffed dogs and cats. I actually worked for a vet for some time and was amazed at how realistic the stations were at the museum! So fun! And you have to put yourself inside a bubble whlie you are there! Great gift shop and the outside of the building is real eyecandy too.
The GR Children's Museum changes their themes regularly, but still has old favorites that my children love to come back to. Their hands-on exhibits appeal to a range of young ages. Some favorites are the bubble area, the sand table, the yellow VW bug, and the drums.
I cannot say enough about the Children's Museum in Grand Rapids. I have been several times with my kids and we had so much fun. The staff is very nice and they have a ton of things for the kids to do. They keep the museum very clean also which is a plus!
It may not be the biggest children's museum in the world but it has plenty of fun activities for small children. Some of our favorites include the child-size grocery store and farm, the child-size bank (with drive through window), and the real yellow VW beetle that has been redone so it's safe for kids to play on. The museum also hosts traveling exhibits that change a few times per year so it might be worth checking out there website to see what's new.
This museum is amazing! One of the best. They frequently have new exhibits all very kid friendly and super interactive. Kinda expensive if you have lots of kids, but it's definitely worth it. If you plan on going plan on being gone the whole day, bring a lunch for even cheaper. Great gift shops and crafts!! This museum is kid centered and they really know how to connect and get the kids learning while they think they are just playing.
