I've always wanted to stay at the Choo Choo, so I surprised the kids with a night in a train car while we were in Chattanooga. Though the hotel is fairly basic in terms of amenities, we had a great time sleeping in a train car. The pools were fun for the kids too. The breakfast buffet was fairly generic, but since the kids ate free, we were quite satisfied.
Our favorite part of visiting the CHattanooga Choo Choo was dinner at the Station House. The food is excellent. There is a great salad bar complete with cocktail shrimp. The waiters take turns performing with a live band, so there's a show to watch all evening long. We like to do birthday dinners here if we can get there. There's also a train museum that our 4 year old nephew fell in love with. He would've stayed there all night.
If your in Chatanooga you have to take a trip up the mountain via the Chattanooga Choo Choo! Interesting view on the ride and plenty to do at the top, from local shops to historic houses to Look Out Point. Ticket prices are very reasonable as well.
The Chattanooga Choo Choo is a neat place to visit and has some pretty good food too. Lots of train memorabilia. I think it would have been more exciting if we had stayed there at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel. but it was kind of pricy. Good thing is there is plenty in the area to do so you are sure to not get bored.
