"big slide"

When we think of this park, we think of the shipwreck playground and the big wide slide that attracts kids of all ages.  My kids (2,6,8) played on that slide for a very long time.  There is also a creatively made "cave" which has pinpoint holes in its sides which lets in the sunlight through colored glass.  It was fascinating for our kids to explore, and for us parents too!
The path around this park is beautiful to walk and a carousel ride at the end is rewarding and relatively inexpensive.

"Chase Palm Park and Carousel"

Carousels always make vacations feel special for the kids. A open area with a fountain is fun for the kids to run around then take a short walk to Chase Palm Park. Climbing, wood structure, sand and across from the beach. A short walk park on Cabrillo Blvd to Stearn's Wharf and the skateboard park.

"Fun with the Family"

In May 1998, the ten-acre north side of the park opened with a totally festive antiquecarousel (enclosed in its own pavilion, nominal fee, open daily); a kids-only (toddler through age twelve) Shipwreck Playground with a rubberized deck; grassy knolls and picnic tables; restrooms; a snack bar; and an entertainment zone. Adjacent is Skaters Point, a popular beachfront 12,000-square-foot concrete mecca for skateboardersopen dawn to dusk.
