This park has been around for years. Before Hugo it was an amazing place to go. Its still a fun place to go but its nothing like it used to be. If your child is an animal lover there is a pretty good animal trail area where you can see otter, elk, birds, bear, and more.
While on a trip to Charleston, we spent a great afternoon here. The Visitors Center and self-guided history trail have a nice self-guided tours. You can also visit the Adventure, Charleston's only 17th century replica sailing ship, and the authentic experimental crop garden, and talk to archaeologists at work. I enjoyed the gardens and live oak alley but the kids were not wowed by plants.
