I have been here with out of town guests (grown-ups) and they loved it. It was a little hard to keep my 2-3 years old happy, but they have a kids room with "art center" and video, an outside area they can run, a SKATING RINK with the Warm Puppy Cafe next door--we took a break for a snack and were able to watch a "seniors" ice hockey game.
WHAT I REALLY LOVED: they have toddler Mondays once a month for only $5--crafts, snacks, play ares, story time--can't wait to go again!
The summer classes sound wonderful, too, if your local.
Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Lucy, and their buddies live here now, since their creator, Sparkie Schulz, passed away. The beautiful museum showcases Peanuts cartoons and those of other famous artists; Schulz’s studio and his tools and memorabilia are on display; and there is much to see, indoors and on the patio. My grandkids, Wyatt and Rachel, spent an hour or so in the Education Room using the cartooning instruction books, activity sheets, and art supplies provided. They loved the free movies. Check the Web site for the schedule of all the Peanuts movies and TV programs, classes, and special events. You can get snacks and light meals next door at Snoopy’s Redwood Empire Ice Arena, while watching the action on the rink.
The museum is not so much geared for kids as it is for the kid-at-heart adults who have fond memories of Charlie, Snoopy & Gang. That said, there's plenty to amuse the children while Mom & Dad explore this engaging museum (I particularly liked seeing "Sparky's" office with original furniture and decor). And right across the street is the ice rink, which sells food (actually, Charles Schulz didn't skate here as a kid, as the other reviewer said...he grew up in Minnesota; but he had it built for kids in the community - and for himself - to enjoy). There's also a really good store full of Peanuts' merchandise. Can spend half-a-day in the world of Schulz. Then buy some Peanuts' DVDs and watch them when you get back to your hotel!
Review by my Junioroo: The Snoopy Museum is a good place for active families and kids. The Snoopy restaurant and ice-rink is opposite the museum. The kid's meals are served in doggie bowls and the ice-rink was where Charles Schultz skated at when he was little. I hope you enjoy the museum too. I was 7 when I went there.
