The greatest park in New york.It has every single type of activity going on in different places sometimes simultaneously. It is a great way to just take a stroll, visit the zoo, take a carriage ride or just picnic at the park. It is a sight to see during the day and at night.(though it seems to have a bad rap at night time) Also during the summer it has many activities ,music and festivals to enjoy with the kids.
Central is a must see in my eyes. I love to walk and this is definitely a place you can walk your heart out. It was so beautiful when my sister and I went there. I loved the bridges and the lakes they have. It was so peaceful and I could have spent all day there. They have beautiful flowers and I just loved all the different people you can meet there... We met some very interesting people to say the least. If you love scenery and walking then this is the place to go.
We were there last year around Christmas and it was so amazing. It's an escape from the overcrowded New York city, especially in the winter, I think. We really enjoyed the peaceful, relax and quiet atmosphere there. There are also beautiful bridges and lakes around. My kids were playing with snow all the time there and they were so much happy since we're from California, and no snow ever here!
This is the first place we went to when visiting new york because everyone told us it was a great place to go. They do have many parks for the kids and a lot of walking involved but much to do along the way. They have rocks all over the kids to climb on and beautiful scenery like flowers and trees. There are a lot of interesting people to look at thats for sure. Most of the people are nice and helpful, it is a melting pot in new york so many different people and cultures. I had a wonderful time there, and this was my favorite spot.
I grew up just two blocks away from Central Park, so it's always been a part of me and my childhood. However, after growing up and moving out of the city, it's been wonderful to be able to take my children back to a park that holds such fond memories in my heart.
There are so many playgrounds, beautiful walking trails, rocks to climb (for the kids, at least) and interesting people to watch. I was recently back in NY during winter and I must say, this was my most amazing visit to Central Park yet! The whole park was covered in snow and as we walked down the paths and the kids stopped for snowball fights, it started snowing!!! If you have never been to Central Park while it's snowing, it's a MUST DO. It was amazingly beautiful and peaceful. You almost didn't feel like you were in the city anymore. It was truly amazing!
So, don't just go to Central Park when its summertime and the park is crowded and noisy. Stop in sometime during the winter, so you can experience the park in a whole different way. Bring some sleds too, as there are many places to go sledding.
Central park is a little oasis in Manhattan. it spans many miles and it has so many activities. There is a zoo, you can take a carriage ride on the south end, you can listen to a free concert in the summer and go ice skating in the winter. It really is a beautiful big park.
Not only are the views spectacular...picture a tree line against a city skyline, there are quite a few activities for kids. We highly recommend staying towards the southern part of the park as the zoo is located there along with most kid activities. Very stroller friendly location with plenty for the little ones to do.
This is the best park in the history of parks. I cannot think of any negatives to the park itself (of course there will be rowdy or annoying people everywhere in the world, so you are bound to come across one or more at Central Park. Not the park's fault.) It is peaceful, gorgeous, there are things to do, places to eat, it is just the heart of the city to me. I have not been back in a while but would love to go when the weather gets warm. It is a little piece of country amidst the most bustling city in the world.
On my trip to New York, I had always wanted to see what Central Park was like because I had seen it in the movies. This park is much bigger than I had ever imagined. There are all different kinds things to do in the park. There are restaurants, street vendors that sell hot dogs, and horse and carriage rides through the park. I love to run in the park a few miles. It is excellent. I would recommend if you ever come to new york to just stop and take a look at central park. You won't be disappointed.
I loved Central Park when I visited. My friend, her sister, and I got some delicious new york style pizza and headed to the park for a picnic. I have always seen this park portrayed as a dangerous place where many dead bodies are dumped but that stereotype was proven wrong that day. I don't recommend going there at night of course. We didn't get too close to the center of the park because of time constraints but this would be a nice place to let the kids run around because there are not many places to do so in NYC.
Central Park is just an amazing area in itself, it's absolutely huge! You can just spend hours & hours walking, jogging, riding your bike with the kids, roller blading, the list goes on & on! There's very pretty scenery it's all very picturesque! There's a huge fountain where you can take pictures & it's a great place to have a picnic! You might even see a movie in the making!
You can literally spend the whole entire day here. Its HUGE and there are always things going on...street fairs galore. The best part is all the really cool playgrounds, you just don't see playgrounds like it anywhere else. T hey have one with Alice and wonderland statues all over...another covered with trees with bridges and a slide carved out of the stone around it...a ton of really cool splash areas mixed into the playgrounds and just miles and miles of places to run, bike, throw a frisbee, you name it! It is such a tranquil place right dab in the middle of such hustle and bustle. The last time we were in NYC we met up with friends from out of town with their daughter and more than half of the day was spent right there in the Park. They even have a zoo, audobon center, carousel and puppet theater right there. Great city, great place.
on the way here they have a lot of people on bike in the middle of the street saying their cabs and asking if you want a ride couldn't wait to cross the street to get to the park it was nice to come here and just rest.it was peaceful.they had some horse and carriage rides took the kids walking .they have benches if you want to rest.then after that went looking at stores.its peaceful quiet and free so thats good just wouldn't advise going at night
Central Park is such an amazing, magical place. Not all of Central Park is this way, but most of it is. We were there in the fall, which was breathtaking. The park is surprisingly well kept and beautiful. There is a zoo, lots of statues, walking trails and ponds. All ages will enjoy this park as there is just a million things to see and do. It is such a well known place that almost everywhere you turn, it is from a movie you've seen. It is just a very enchanting place to be. Central Park also offers a ton of places to eat of all prices.
My cousin and her boyfriend took us for a walk through Central Park. It was so nice to walk through the park again. I haven't been there in years. My daughter was in her stroller and we were walking to the different areas of the park. I wanted her to ride the carousel but we didn't get a chance to do so. I need to come back and take her there as well as the Central Park Zoo. I don't remember if I ever went there.
Love it here! Spent the afternoon walking around the park and seeing many sights I had seen in the movies! When in NYC, this is a must see! I even wandered around strawberry fields. Just a great place, no where else like it and where I ate my first hotdog from a cart! Yes, I am a tourist :)
Just a great, great place.
There is not much to miss in Central Park. There are miles of trails and paths in the park to walk, run, or bike. Take a carage ride, visit the zoo, go to Strawberry Fields. Visit Magnolia's Bakery and walk off the cupcake in the park! What a wonderful way to unwind from the hussle and bustle of the rest of the city.
We visited Central Park on a Sunday and spent a lot of times enjoying watching street performers all over the park. I found the park to be smaller than expected but that does not take away from the greatness of the place. We loved it. It was also exciting to see so many areas that we had seen in movies!
We always wanted to take our four kids to NYC, but staying in a decent hotel there was just too cost-prohibitive, to say nothing of eating out every day. Since we've stayed in timeshares before, we checked on http://www.redweek.com, and found that there are timeshares available right in the city. For a fraction of what a NYC hotel costs, plus a kitchen that really saved on meals, we were able to spend a week in this fascinating place. The timeshare did not come with resort amenities, but who needed them with Central Park right there! There is Everything for you and your kids to do! Great playgrounds and fun surprises around every corner such as the puppet show at the Marionette Theater. We spent a lot of time in that Park!
Central Park is the one place I miss with all my heart when I am not in NYC. No matter what the season, no matter what time of day, Central Park always has something going on. Some of the activities are listed on their site, but in all honesty, my family and I often just "stumble upon" the great things we've found there. Like the free concerts around every path or other performances.
Have a picnic on The Great Lawn, spend time playing in their many playgrounds, have a snack in one of their many little food court areas, and people watch. Catch a puppet show at the Marionette Theater...or have a romantic lunch or dinner at the famous Boat House, rent a row boat, take a carriage ride. The possibilities are endless!
