Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas.
The CF Zoo will be a disappointment if you are looking for a grand zoo. It is very small with very little variety of animals. It does have an elephant, but they only have elephant "shows" on the weekends at 2:15pm. They do have a great snake house which keeps my daughter entertained. There is also a small petting zoo with a handful of animals and a splash park (included with admission). Great place if you don't want a lot of crowds and your kids want to run around and look at animals. Staff is not the friendliest and tend not to stop and answer questions when you need it.
This was a nice little zoo to spend an afternoon. Our almost 2 year old enjoyed running around and we were able to cover the whole zoo in a few hours. It kept her busy without being to much. If you're looking for an activity to fill a whole day this isn't for you.
My favorite feature was reading all the boards on the walkways with dedications on them (even proposals). My daughter liked looking for her name or letters while walking.
This is a great little zoo!~ So much for little ones to do-there is a train and many different animals. There is also a splash pad and a zipline! They have special events the coorelate with holidays-so check before going to see what is going on!! This place tends to get busy, go early in the day!
This is the major zoo in the Orlando area and though it's ok, it really needs improvement. The animals always seem tired and have mostly been sleeping when we've visited. The zoo is also not kept very clean and many of the areas are unpaved. Once you get past those details, the little kids will enjoy looking at the animals and the new water play area they have, though.
If you're looking for something to do just to get out of the house and enjoy the weather, this would be a good place to go. The exhibits are overgrown and the animals available to see aren't the most attention grabbing animals especially if the children with you are younger. If you are accustomed to larger zoos you will be disappointed.
It conducts a variety of seasonal programs designed to enlighten children about animal behaviors and endangerment. They range from Children’s Storytime at the Zoo to Nature Niche, a weeklong study for six- to twelve-year-olds. Many of the zoo’s animals are endangered species from around the world, including the red-ruffed lemur, clouded leopard, Aruba island rattlesnake, and Bali mynah bird.
