COSI provides an informative atmosphere for those of all ages to discover more about the environment and humanity. COSI encourages a better understanding of science, industry, health, and history through involvement in exhibits, demonstrations, and a variety of educational activities and experiences.
We've been taking our little boy to COSI since he was about 18 months old till now (3) and will continue! He loves the water learning exhibit in the toddler area. If I would've known, I would've taken him even younger since there is a special water play area for babies! With the admission free for 2 and under it's a nice place to go when the weather isn't nice or just for a fun change of scenery! I wish the admission prices were a little cheaper but if you go at or after 2:45 then it's half off so that's what we typically do to make it more affordable. Especially because we only stay a couple of hours at a time. The oceans exhibit is also amazing when it's open.
I take my small kids here once in a while (under 5). They have a great play area with all kinds of things to climb on and play with . The area has a water learning exhibit, so bring a change of clothing for them, though rain coats are provided. The center is nice and there are tons of great things to do.
cosi is kind of sceince museum. Its very colorfull unlike other museums. They have theatre with Imax experience. Its definately worth to take kids to build their knowledge. Both fun-time and sceince time!.The entrance is not free.Exhibits + One Extreme Screen Film
price is $20.25.They have many options like without film, just exhibits and much more. You can select accordingly.Check this link for more info http://www.cosi.org/visitors/hours-rates/.
A interactive science museum that is fun for all ages. They also offer family events and camps. It is normally a field trip must for most Ohio kids. It gets pretty crowded on weekends. Ticket price depends on if you want to watch the extreme 3d show or not.
If you are a family that is going to be in the Columbus area, then COSI is the place to go. They have hundreds of interactive displays that are hands on science exhibits-fun and educational at the same time. If you have a group such as a girl scout troop etc. check out the overnights they are a lot of fun and not too expensive.
COSI-Center Of Science And Industry, may not sound all that exciting by it's name, but it is! It's great hands on fun for preschoolers through adults. There are so many cool areas to explore & things to learn! Be sure to plan on spending a whole day here! There is a cafeteria, but you can also pack a lunch! Your children will leave here knowing that learning can be a blast!
Fabulous! Every aspect of science...hands on learning! It's nice to have "touch me" exhibits for kids, they learn so much more that way! Something fun for every age(even the moms and dads!) A little pricey, but worth every penny! Can't wait to go back!
COSI is a must for every child- even the older ones! They are great at keeping up with the times and changing information. The more you go, the more variety the kids- and you- will get! Schools often take trips and I recommend being a chaperone! It is so much fun, and the activities are always changing- so take multiple trips!
We have been member of COSI for years and my children never tire of it. Traveling exhibits (such as Grossology, Titanic the exhibition, etc...) always make for a new experience. We also enjoy the science of big machines and the farm days they have every summer. They bring in trucks and farm equipment that the children can climb on/in and explore. Little kidspace was a hit with my kids when they were younger (it is kindergarten and younger).
I went to COSI as a child and loved it! Since then it has had a major overhaul (even moving to a new location). The museum has something for everyone - adults and children alike. My kids loved the space and ocean exhibits. They were a bit disappointed when they were too young or short to ride on a few of the attractions. The little kids area was also a big hit - blocks to build, little cars to ride, a water area. We had a nice lunch in the cafeteria, although it was a little pricey. And the Dippin' Dots as we left were a great ending to a fun day!
Start with their website. Click on plan your visit then select Sample Daily Itineraries. Select your child(ren)s ages and you'll see what exhibits COSI thinks you're ages groups will get the most out of. I think this is an amazing feature and all such places should use this as their model. It is so helpful. And once you get there you see just how helpful. The place is huge and there is so much to do, this could easily take all day or even a couple days to really explore.
We absolutely loved the Gadget Cafe (where you can take apart household objects and see how they work), the Gadgets Live show, and the Space exhibit.
For the younger crowd (including toddlers) there is kidspace, ocean room, and gadgets my son would have loved when he was younger. There is a ton of stuff for ages 9 and up also (but we didn't do them, since our son isn't).
This is a must do while in Columbus.
When I was little, I lived in OH and we went to COSI on a field trip. I thought that it was so fun that years later as a parent, who no longer lives in the area, I took my kids there. It has only gotten better with age. The exhibits are great and there are places for infants and toddlers to play. Our favorite part was the television studio WOSU!
COSI is a staple of family fun for central Ohio. They have wonderful traveling exhibits that change seasonally as well as the old favorites. COSI has a wonderful planetarium. There is also a little yellow submarine your kids can explore. COSI's new location near the riverfront in downtown Columbus has much better parking options and ease at getting in and out of the center.
We were at COSI from 9 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon and still missed the special exhibit. There's lots to do here, for kids of all ages. There's a great play area for little ones (under 5), and the older ones will have fun learning about space, oceans, machines, and more. We've been to a lot of science museums, so it's hard to impress us, but COSI was definitely impressive!
