We started visiting the Center for Puppetry Arts after my 3 year old attended a birthday party. The shows are fantastic and very child friendly. My 5 year old is mesmerized by the shows. I would say 3 is a little on the young side. The shows are best for kids who can sit still for an hour. Be sure to walk through the museum for a look at Jim Henson's work. Shows sell out and the theater is first come first served so arrive early to grab seats.
We visited here for the first time last spring. I thought it was wonderful. I would highly recommend doing the workshop and puppet show. We loved making the puppet. They displayed several of the previous ones made. Since I am a teacher I walked away with several cute ideas. The show was fantastic. It kept my kids very entertained. I am planning to take my class there next month. Along with the workshop and show, you can tour the museum. This was interesting but not as good as the other activities.
We have been going here over many years of time. It has always been a great experience for the kids and for the adults. The kids look forward to going here and really enjoy the puppet workshops too. Again, there are some really great home school days for this one!! Thanks Center For Puppetry Arts! These deals mean a lot to us!
I love to take my kids here. the puppet shows keep there full attention and almost allways has a moral or lesson to learn. after most shows there is a craft to do and also some sort of exibit to use as a learning experience. Get there as eairly as you can because the seats fill up very fast. It is loud but the kids do have a great time.
I have loved every show I've ever seen here. If you do a google search you'll find a lot of discounts to use at the box office and I think they have a coupon in the Entertainment Books. The puppets are always so realistic and so pretty you forget that they aren't real. Kids eyes are glued to the stage.
