The Cedarock Historical Farm provides an example of life on a farm in North Carolina during the 19th Century. Populated with the farm animals, antique and replica farm equipment, and a farmhouse, the Historical Farm provides a fun, education stop while visiting Cedarock Park.
Self guided tours are available during park hours everyday. Guided Tours for 12 or more are available by appointment Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
A great way to spend part of an afternoon is at Cedarock Historical Farm. This is a unique, 414-acre park that features a rolling terrain full of cedar trees and rock outcroppings, hence its name. Now restored to its original condition, this farm and its buildings were originally constructed in 1830 by John and Polly Garrett. Today a variety of livestock is kept on the farm, including goats, sheep, and cattle, as well as Jed and Jethro, the team of working mules. A museum includes antique farm equipment and demonstrations of long-lost farming techniques.
