"Awesome modern cathedral."
This is a very large cathedral--probably the most modern cathedral I have ever been to. This cathedral has very very high with angulated ceilings. Other than that, this is a very 'plain' church; for example, I find the main altar quite a lackluster. As a Catholic myself and having visited European churches, I enjoy going to church and appreciating different architectures so if you are like me in that respect, I really urge you to go.

Whether you’re Catholic or not, you can’t miss this twenty-first-century architectural wonder th
at opened in September 2002. Its concrete angularity and lighting is aweinspiring inside and out. Open daily to the public for self-guided tours. Free guided tours Monday through Friday at 1:00 P.M. Gardens, artwork, sculpture, fountains, a cafe, and a gift shop on the plaza surround this home of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Daily masses in English and Spanish as well as other liturgies. Call for current schedule and times.
