"Food and Fun"

This place would be five stars if it were only rating the fruit stand...but as far as the play area, it's a great stop on long trips.  And during holiday seasons they have different things going on.  It's definitely worth going to, but it's not necessarily a place I would drive to as the only destination.

"Great little Stop"

Since we live in the central valley, Casa de Fruta is a great little stop on our way to the coast. We always spend a few bucks at one of the restaurants. If we are between meals we will have an ice cream cone or special treat from the sweet shop. Our daughter loves the carousel, train ride and play equipment. She can entertain herself by hanging out on the old train engine too. When our daughter was little,( age 2-4), Casa De Fruta was perfect for a short, half day get-a-way.

"Fun stop "

Our family loves to go to the coast and this always a must.  It breaks up the trip and gives us something to do to stretch out the legs. We enjoy getting a sweet treat from the candy shop. Not to mention buyin some fresh fruit for coastal trip. If heading to the coast from the central valley try stopping by on the way.

"Pretty good rest stop"

This place is a tourist trap at it's finest. There's a train that's closed more often that open, a playground with some good equipment, but nothing that really stands out as fantastic and a little "zoo" which hasn't been open the last few times we went either. The shops on the other hand are great! If the parents can take turns watching the kids at the playground there's some pretty awesome stuff like Casa De Fruita, Casa de Candy Shop, Casa de Wine, and more. The store's are crammed full and I'm not particularly fond of taking my grabby kids through highly stacked veggies and breakables. All in all, it's great to stop and regain feeling in your legs, but nothing the family could spend all day at.

"Fun with the Family"

Antique farm machinery, shade trees, and fruit trees create a pleasant, country atmosphere at this farm-theme roadside stop. Since 1908 when they planted a cherry orchard, the Zangers have produced luscious fruit in the Pacheco Valley. Today you can purchase a wide variety of picture-perfect, locally grown produce at their huge fruit stand.
You and the kids can also ride a miniature locomotive ($1.50); linger at the plaground; have some homemade pie, candy, and ice cream at Casa de Sweets; see goats, ducks, rare white deer, llama, Longhorn steer, and a buffalo; and pan for gemstones and minerals—lots to do and see, and worth at least a couple of hours.
Open twenty-four hours a day, the restaurant serves good American comfort food. Events are scheduled on some weekends, including a Native American Pow-Wow, a Civil War reenactment, crafts fairs, and a pumpkin festival in October. You can stay here, too, in a nice RV park or the Peacock Inn motel (408–842–9316).

"Great Stop for a Road Trip"

This place is a kids paradise.  It includes an antique carousel and a train.  Camping is available.  There is a play area with swings.  There used to be a zoo, but it is being phased out.

The restaurant is retro fun with big booths and friendly waitresses.  It's big enough that you won't get dirty looks from other diners.  There is a yummy looking candy and icecream shop and of course a fruit stand.
