This little town is adorable and the beach is absolutely beautiful. During the summer months it gets VERY CROWDED so I would recommend going off season. There is a camp ground near by that gets super crowded as well. The sand is white and the water is just gorgeous!
The Carpinteria State Beach, aka the “world’s safest beach”—a claim justified, perhaps, by a natural reef breakwater that prevents nasty riptides. There are outstanding recreational opportunities and a variety
of camping facilities around and inland from the beach.
This beach is right next to the Marsh preserve, and is a great place to let your kids play in the ocean. This is a great place to study the tidepools and see the sea anemones, star fish, etc. We haven't been lucky enough to see the gray whales here, but we do enjoy watching the seals and sea lions play in the surf!
