"Boomerrang Bay is the greatest"

We absolutely love carowinds during the summer season.  My husband and I have season passes for the family and we make good use of them.  My daughters love the waterpark and could spend everyday there during the summer and never get tired of it.  They have a wonderful section for the kids but enough variety for the adults who are there to watch them as well.  We love it to say the least.

"Good family fun"

Before we got married, my husband and I bought a summer pass to Carowinds. I was teaching at the time so my entire summer was free, and for the price of the summer pass, we could go twice and already have saved money. Carowinds is great! There's a big water park section which is great during the hot months. It's nice to cool off in, then go ride, and then come back to cool off.

"Good times"

You can't go wrong with carowinds. I always purchase my tickets online to get a discount, or use the wendys coupons. They have plenty of great rides and games to play. The best part is they have a giant waterpark so you get to have lots of fun. Carowinds makes for a great day out with the family.

"Very Exciting!"

Ohhh this place is really really awesome. The Amazing thrill rides, lots of good food, munchers, candys, icecreams, donuts. Kids Love this place. Also there are good rides for little members of families too. Its a huge park with lots of excitement and fun and thrill. The only thing during holidays this gets so crowded...like crazy . So longer waiting time for rides...which can get frustrating! But otherwise this place rocks...great place for families ...kids love this place...there is so much in there i don't think, anyone who likes thrill will get bored ever with this place!

"Great fun!"

This amusement park is fun for all! Many different rides. The water park is amazing...our favorite by far. The tidal wave pool is good for even the smaller kids. I left my toddlers at home when I went to Carowinds so that I could go on the rides myself! My advice would be to leave the kids under 4 at home because they can't ride the rides and wouldn't enjoy walking around that much.

"Best Small Amusement Park"

Carowinds has lots of parking, and a ton of roller coasters for all ages. Carowinds also has events like Make-A-Wish day, and Scarowinds in October that are a lot of fun! The park is a clean park compared to many others and has a area for children with the Nickelodeon theme park! This is a great day trip the whole family can enjoy.

"Fun"

I have been to carowinds a few times an enjoyed going every time. They have lots of rides and a waterpark also. They have different resturaunts and games to play too. Its fun for the whole family and the cost is reasonable. Order tickets online a couple days in advance to save money.

"Tons of kids friendly rides!"

Carowinds is a little expensive but they do specials throughout the year if you bring things like coke cans or canned goods.  There are loads of rides for both kids and adults and the water park is super for the summer time.  My favorite is the Gold Rush roller coaster is the best!  Just be prepared to walk and stay hydrated.  If you are a dare devil there are lots of new and fun roller coasters too!!

"Carowinds"

Carowinds is a great place for the family to escape and spend the day.  We had season passes, so we made the hour trip every weekend.  There is plenty to do for kids of all ages.  Our favorite ride is the Goldrush because it is not too scary and everyone could do it.  They do have a water area called Boomerang Bay, but I would suggest you pick one or the other unless you  like walking around wet going between the two.

"Wonderful Fun"

This park is absolutely fantastic! There are plenty of rides to ride on, and plenty of places to eat! The concert series are also extremely enjoyable. I have been to numerous of the Christian Music Days concerts, and had a wonderful experience each time. As with all amusement parks, if you have small children, make sure you take a stroller or rent one!

"Scarowinds - Appalling Attraction"

Sept 02, 2010:  I was recently made aware of an attraction at Carowind's Theme Park that is to take place during the "Scarowinds" event.  The attraction is called “The Asylum”.  Being closely tied to someone suffering with mental illness and an advocate for the mentally ill, I am deeply offended by this attraction which will serve to perpetuate ignorance and indifference to those suffering with debilitating medical issues.

I encourage others to contact Cedar Fair Entertainment, the parent company of Carowinds to do away with this egregious attraction of insensitivity.

"Thrills, Not Themes"

Charlotte, NC's Carowinds thrill park is a fantastic little trip for anyone in the area. Located on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina, the park is filled to the brim with thrilling rides for all ages. As opposed to Disney World, which is all about the theme, Carowinds is all about the thrill.

The one major complaint about the park is that, especially compared to Disney, the place looks a bit run down and not as clean.

Still, all the roller coasters, for little dudes ages 6-ish and up, well, that makes up for it. The water park is a lot of fun as well.

It's a great day trip.

"Fun and Adventure "

This is the state’s largest theme park, packed with a day full of fun and adventure for everyone in the family. As you walk through the main gate, you may be greeted by your favorite characters from television and film, past and present.

Younger children will adore characters such as the Rugrats, Fred Flintstone, Yogi Bear, Boy Genius Jimmy Neutron, Scooby-Doo, and other characters from Nickelodeon or some other part of TV land. A county fair section has games and rides for all ages, including bumper cars, a carousel, and more.

Some of the rides and attractions for younger guests include the Carolina Goldrusher, a wooden mine train rollercoaster; Carolina Skytower, an air-conditioned cabin that travels up a 320-foot tower; Ricochet, which takes riders through continuous twists and turns; Rip Roarin' Rapids, a soggy whitewater rafting expedition; and Scooby-Doo's Haunted Mansion.

The truly adventurous will want to experience Vortex, a stand-up roller coaster; Top Gun: The Jet Coaster; Drop Zone, which drops visitors 174 feet at more than 50 miles per hour; or even the BORG Assimilator. You can cool off on the Flying Super Saturator just outside Boomerang Bay, which includes several great water slides and more.

For a break in the action, you’ll want to catch some of the shows at the park, including popular and Christian music concerts in the palladium. Free kennels are provided if your pet is with you, and picnic facilities are available if you aren’t lured into one of the park’s dozens of food stands and restaurants.

"Fun if you like roller coasters"

I'm not a big fan of roller coasters or most rides really. So when I went to Carowinds there wasn't too much to do. I did brave a few of the tamer rides like the Rip Roarin Rapids. They do offer a few shows and rides for younger kids but older kids that don't care for roller coasters may have a hard time finding something fun to do.

They have tons of kids rides perfect for all ages. The waterpark is great. The people are great! It is a little costly as any amusement park is but a ton of fun! Definitely recommend to visitors! A must see! And scarrowinds is a ton of fun as well! The train is a great feature for kids of all ages and the kids coaster is a pretty cook experience for them as well.

"Fun Vacation Trip"

We visited Carowinds while on vacation visiting with family. It was really nice. The roller coasters are awesome, and little kids will love the Nick theme and characters. The prices are a little steep, but it was worth the trip to us. Overall an enjoyable day out with the family.

"great park!"

So much to do! Lots of great rids and great food. We could spend all day here, and usually do! We discovered this park when we were on our way down moving in July of 2006. We were excited to see such a great park so close by! We try to go at least once a year.

"Just too expensive"

I think the great fun at Carowinds is greatly overshadowed by the expense involved with a day there.  Admission is way to expensive for a family.  If you can get past that, the cost of the food, even water, will bring you to your knees.  The activities and rides are great, we just can't justify the cost.

"Fun times by all"

What a great way to spend time with your family. Thrills and giglles all day long. Bring your own lunch to save money and eat at the picnic areas. Come early to avoid long lines on your favorite rides. Wear comfortable shoes b/c there is a lot of walking involved.
