"Balloons galore!"
Balloons fill the sky over Statesville each October as one of the oldest and biggest balloon rallies on the East Coast gets under way. The Carolina BalloonFest, held in late October, is the city’s best attraction.
Thousands of spectators show up annually to watch the more than fifty beautiful, silent, colorful balloons ascend to the heavens. Standard festival amenities are also offered at the event, including a kids fun zone, a trick-or-treat event, crafts, and even an adult feature—a wine festival. Balloon rides are also offered, of course.
