My family and I very much enjoyed our visit to the Carnegie Science Center. The Carnegie Science Center offers numerous exhibits that family members of all ages will enjoy.
My family members really enjoyed the Omni Max theater! The Omini Max theater screen is enormous! The theater offers a wide variety of shows to choose from.
The Carnegie Science Center frequently offers special events, make sure you check out their website before planning your next trip.
I would defintely recommend attending to a laser show! My family and I went to the Michael Jackson laser show and it was out of very fun and very exciting.
The Carnegie Science Center is both fun and educational. If you are in the Pittsburg, PA area check it out!
They have tons of exhibits and seem to always be updating. Older kids love the sports complex. Lets them run and burn off energy. They have a blast rock climibing or pitching a baseball. Smaller kids may have trouble with some of the stuff in this area. The last time we were there they had a huge area where very soft foam balls were dumped or shot out of things. Preschoolers and older kids alike had a blast with this! We all love the submarine, but if you have a hard time with small places beware. Great fun for all. Food Court is expensive, eat before you go or pack a lunch and have fun:)
This place really has something for everyone. My 20 month old loves the huge toy train exhibit. It is modeled after Pittsburgh history and is mesmerizing to watch. He has loved it since he first saw it at 6 months old. There is also a great toddler designed for ages 6 and under with a water table, ball toys, crawling tunnels, books, and blocks. My brother, in his early 20s really enjoyed their new sports works exhibit that has a lot of high tech "rides" and strength tests. The science center also hosts an IMAX, WWII sub, and stunning views of the city. A must visit.
This science center is amazing! There is something for all ages.
We loved it so much we skipped the zoo on the last day of our vacation and went here again. It is very hands on, lots of rooms, displays and interactives.
The omniplex is worth a visit--I've never seen anything like it. And its a great way to unwind and regroup (we saw the show right after lunch when the younger kids with us were getting worn out and cranky). Its a great way to recharge for the second round.
We have been to a lot of sciece centers and have one in our home town--this is our favorite by far. Our son's favorites were the robots.
Carnegie Science Center is a great place for young and old alike. There is so much to do and you don't have to worry about anything getting broken. We generally do all of the hands on activities and finish the day with one of the Omni Max movies to unwind. Pittsburgh is a great city to visit with a lot of fun family activities.
Carnegie Science Center connects science and technology to everyday life in a fun way. With a four-story OMNIMAX Theater, an interactive Planetarium, the largest sports science exhibit in the country, a real World War II submarine, the world’s best model railroad display, three live demonstration theaters, and a building full of 400 hands-on exhibits, the Science Center brings the world of science alive for visitors of all ages.
Oh how we love visiting the Carnegie Science Center. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Now I take my own kids. They love it. You can touch everything! The Omnimax is still a big attraction and now they let you buy snacks! The model railroad is a favorite for all kids big and small. Many of the exhibits have been there a long while, but they never cease to entertain my kids (or me for that matter). The Submarine is worth skipping, and the food as well (Jump back in the car and head to Atria's at PNC Park).
