"Fantastic - But Crowded"

We got a family pass here, and we definitely tried to milk it as much as possible. It's a godsend during rainy days, but heads up that it will be EXTREMELY crowded on those days, where parents all huddle their kids into this place. It's not a large museum, but has ample sea life exhibits and a little library and activity center.

"Fun with the Family"

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History does a terrific job of teaching kids (and their parents) about the Cape’s fragile ecology. Changing exhibits focus on the Cape and the Cape’s environment and history throughout the year. An osprey cam gives a live feed from the nest. There are three nature trails (guided trail walks to Wing Island are a treat and can take one and a half hours) and marine tanks with live indigenous salt- and freshwater creatures.
The tidal pools feature crabs, mollusks, fish, turtles, frogs, and other local species and more than sixty-five saltwater aquarium habitats. Set aside about one hour to completely digest the museum.
Other family activities include seal cruises through the summer, kid-friendly programs with interactive games and crafts, and a day camp for kids that runs from three days to a week. A special program called Mud Flat Mania is intriguing—it’s a guided trip to the sand flats to learn about the creatures beneath your feet (summer only).
