We went here when our son was just 1 1/2. It has a great open feel, as it is in a warehouse type building. They have all the imaginative play you would expect including capes, store, cafe, post office and more. There were more manipulative type stations as well. The puzzle manipulatives kept grandpa and dad busy too!
The kids had a blast here. It was an educational adventure for them as well. There were a lot of activities of them and when it was time to leave, they didn't want to. The staff was friendly. There is a shop nearby where you can grab food such as burgers and hotdogs.
A good diversion for toddlers during the winter months. There are plenty of dress-up clothes, a submarine to command, a tree house and a craft room. This is perfect for spending a couple of hours on a cold winter day. During the summer, I think the beach would be more fun. I would just save this for poor weather.
This is a really nice children's museum. Fantastic place to go on a rainy day when you can't go to the beach! They had very unique things that we haven't seen at other children's museums we visited. My son dressed up in a fireman costume and wore it the entire time. They even have puzzles for grown-ups to do while the kids are playing!
The Cape Cod Children’s Museum is a good place to spend a rainy day. It has a tree house, a puppet theater, a shadow room, and a 30-foot pirate ship (especially popular with toddlers). Visit the toddler castle in the toddler play area, a big wooden train (perfect for climbing and exploration), a kitchen with play food and utensils, a music room with handheld instruments and a variety of drums, the star lab planetarium (with planetarium shows on selected days in the summer), and the science workshops.
A popular exhibit features native Cape Cod artifacts such as a wetu (summer hut used by Native Americans), animal hives, and prints. The newest exhibit, called “A Shore Thing,” showcases native animals indigenous to the Cape. The arts-and-crafts workshops, daily programs, field trips, and monthly museum activities are fun for everyone. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
