Camp Cozy Point focuses on cultivating confident and responsible riders with a foundation in basic horsemanship. Our campers not only learn how to groom, saddle and ride their horses safely, but develop skills in understanding the horses motivations, attitude and disposition as well as reading their vital signs for health and wellness.
Our time tested programs offer opportunities for children 4 years of age and up, at all experience levels from first time “never-evers” to horse show competition.
The camp experience includes:
..Daily chores: Tending to the barn and riding equipment
..Riding lesson:  The Camp Director joins riders with similar experience together in small   groups from the first time camper to the seasoned rider.
..Classroom and hands-on lessons on the topic of the day.  Subjects include anatomy, basic veterinary skills, learning the breeds and colors, different styles of riding, and more.
..Guest speakers appear regularly to discuss their fields of expertise such Veterinary science, Farrier skills, Equine Massage and Acupuncture.
..Horse related art projects are alternated with classroom lessons.
..Spanish vocabulary and phrases related to equine terminology are taught.
..Yoga sessions including relaxation and breathing are conducted weekly.
For more experienced riders, small group lessons are offered after regular camp hours and on weekends.  These lessons are intended for riders who ride year round and canter, jumping courses over 2’6″ in height.
2011 begins an exciting new partnership with local non profit Aspen T.R.E.E. This collaboration creates an opportunity on Tuesdays & Thursdays for age “7 and up” campers to participate in the “Sustainable Farmyard Education Project.” Campers will learn basic hands-on gardening and animal husbandry skills coupled with healthy living habits in our Eco-Garden and tending to our farm animals. Our age 4-6 campers will spend a part of every day in the “Farmyard” learning about the wonders of nature, where our food comes from and interacting with the animals.
Best of all, Camp Cozy Point offers children the opportunity to make new friends with a shared love of horses, animals and healthy outdoor activity.

The Camp season runs from June 6th through September 2nd, monday through friday with occasional weekend horse show activities.  Campers are welcomed for a day, week, or the entire season.  Space is limited so reservations are advised.  Please visit our website for more detail on rates and times of day for various activities as well as registration forms.
