My family loves Camels Back Park because there is so much to do. We almost always bring a picnic and then we hike, bike, play on the huge play area, and/or set up our own bocce ball or croquet set.
The hike is straight up but even small kids can make it with a little help. Once at the top you can head back down on the simple loop or hike on some trails for a while.
To complete our night we love to hit Hyde Park (just south of Camels Back Park) for icecream at Goody's.
My family and I LOVE this park. There are so many activities to do here. You can run up into the foothills and the kids love the steep trail up the mountain next to the playground. There are tennis and volley ball courts at this park, and enough room to play baseball or frisbee. There is a big grassy area, and there are bathrooms next to the playground.
Camel's Back Park is one of the most fun parks in the Boise area. It has tennis courts, picnic facilities, and a kid's area. My wife and I loved this park for the social atmosphere. There were always pick up games of frisbee, football, etc. In the middle of the park is a giant hill (hence Camel's Back) that is available for hiking. It also makes a great viewing spot for fireworks and views of the Boise area. Camel's Back is also home to the Hyde Park Street fair, which is a great place to find arts and crafts. I give this park a 5 star rating because it is very family friendly, has a great location in Boise (North end), and is just a very fun place to spend an afternoon.
