Everything you wanted to know about surfing—for the novice to learn and for the experienced to enjoy. A real kicked-back gem since 1986.
I visited the surf museum at its old storefront location. It may be a lot more interesting now that it has its own dedicated space. At the time you paid an entrance fee to see alot of surf boards and some limited information on the history of surfing.
It was interesting to see the evolution of the surfboard and to read about some famous local surfers. They had some really cool surf photographs. Still, if you are not a die hard surfer you might be better off with a trip to the San Diego Hall of Champions or the Lighthouse Surf Museum up north in Santa Cruz.
Perhaps when my son is older and more into surfing we'll revisit this museum in its new digs. It is supposed to have alot more room to display its collection.
