"Don't Visit Acadia without Driving to the Peak!"

Those who make the journey to the naturally beautiful and pristine Maine coastline must see Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. These offer incredibly amazing sights that you will remember for a lifetime. Do keep in mind that the view from Cadillac Mountain will be somewhat restricted if the weather is rainy and foggy, so this is a destination that is best for a clear day.

"Good view"

The view is pretty, but it's pretty all over the park.  My kids do not love Cadillac Mountain as much as they love the rest of the main attractions in the park.  It's beautiful at sunrise.  We did enjoy seeing some bag pippers on top of the mountain playing.

"A panoramic view"

For the brave and the sure footed, you can hike up Cadillac Mountain.  For the rest of us, we will drive up to the precipice!  This is not only the highest mountain in the park but along the Atlantic Coast.

This is one stop that is well worth it.  The views are panoramic and on a clear day go on forever.  There are maps on the top that give you landmarks of the islands and surrounding areas.  A Park Ranger was available to answer questions as well, and the rangers are always so friendly and helpful!

All 3 of my kids were impressed with the views but my oldest (age 9) just kept saying "wow, this is beautiful!".

It was a bit chilly and windy at the top of the mountain so you may want to bring along a jacket.

There are bathrooms and a small gift shop.
