I saw a review somewhere online saying that Buzz Bakery has great cupcakes. I'll admit now that I've fallen for the cupcake craze. Since I found myself in the area today, I decided to drop by.
It immediately struck a happy, welcoming tone. Outside there are lots of comfy looking bright pink chairs. Looking in the window, I saw a group of mommies and infant carriers.
Within seconds of entering, my kids found the play kitchen. It's not huge or elaborate, but simple and perfect for a bakery-cafe. A retro-styled kid stovetop, a few pots and pans, a few bags and "groceries" kept my kids happily entertained for half an hour.
And yes, they have good cupcakes. Between us, we had the red velvet, the hokey-pokey, and a chocolate chip cookie. Mommy had a "bite" of each. Everything was spot on. I didn't get a drink, but all of the coffees, teas, and specialty drinks on the menu and going by looked scrumptious. So did the lunch fare.
The staff were helpful, friendly, and happy. The decor spoke of a mom-run business. The atmosphere was relaxed and kid-friendly. I have a mental list of who I need to take there!
