Busch Gardens is open daily from mid-May through Labor Day. In early April and from Labor Day to the end of October, the park is generally open Friday through Sunday.
We went with the preschool pass which is free for kids under 5 years old. Due to us not having their birth certificates we had to get a comp pass instead of the season pass. I got an discounted ticket on line through my credit union which was a 20.00 discount. The kids had a blast at the SESAME STREET part of the park where the water and kiddie rids are in Ireland. They had a blast on all of the rides throughout the park. We rode the tram to different locations. we brought drinks and lunchables, chips and a drink for them to munch on throughout the day. Food is extremly pricey there.
I took my six year old here for his birthday, and first trip on a roller coaster! To ride the coasters, children must be at least 48 inches tall, and that will get you on a few of them ( including lochness monster ). You must be 52 inches or taller to get on the rest. Parking varies, I always pay the $12 to park closer to the park, but you can pay less and take the free shuttle. If you are military you can get in once a year for free, otherwise you must pay full price. There are lots of places to eat, in each location. The food is set to whichever country you are in ( which is neat ). We always opt to go out of the park to eat picnic style though, since food is very overpriced. I've not brought my two year old to the park, but have wandered into the kids area. It looked very small to me though, and I won't be bringing my youngest based on that and the rides seemed to be smushed into a small area ( which sounds good until you realize that area also needs to accommodate strollers ). My six year old had a blast, and when you get to hot head over to apollo's chariot area to ride on a few water rides and cool off! In the same area they have a carnival style area, with teacup rides, games, bumper cars and a carousel. It was a great place to visit and have fun on some calmer rides when my sons tummy started hurting.
I have gone to both Busch Gardens, this one and the one in Tampa, FL. Both of them are very different but at the same time its a good thing to see things different. Some items were the same but the majority is different. Check out the website and see. I know maybe you can get some deals on the internet but check it out. They had real nice shows and the kids areas were nice. The petting zoo was nice too. It just depends what you like. Enjoy!
The best part of this amusement park is that is European themed. For instance, in the German part of the park, the buildings all look "German" and the main eating area is very large with a stage in the middle where a polka band plays. One of the rollercoasters is named the "Alpengeist" and the others are also German. It is a very unique experience the whole family will enjoy!
We have gone here twice (we live on the West coast), once with kids, once without. It is so fun for either families or couples! My only complaint is that it really isn't a place for under 2 kids. Maybe I missed that area, but other than that, it is an awesome place! As with all commercial placesl ike that, the prices on food were astronomical, but we did take advantage of the drink refill: buy one cup (at an outrageous price!) and get free drink refills the rest of the day! The other thing I didn't like: not quite enough bathrooms! But we love this place!
My kids really liked the "tree fort" area; it was a giant tree house, and the trees looked very real! They also liked the classic car drive (where you get to drive an old fashioned car, as long as you can reach the peddles!), and the log flume.
One suggestion I would make is to invest in a "express pass," that allows you to go to the front of the line. That was invaluable for us, and our young children. I can see how it can get boring standing in line for 45 minutes to an hour just for one ride.
Stroller is a must, I might even take a double one if you have a child who is borderline tired.
OMG! This was so exciting for my family. The lights were incredible. The price was a little steep at 21.99 per adult (we had free passes) and 10.00 per child. But the experience was a once in a lifetime thing. My granddaughter is 2 and she was soooo excited about everything. It was cold the night we went so we bundled up pretty good. Lights were everywhere, and every color under the sun. It was so amazing. I highly recommend this for all ages.
This park is as good as it gets. The park is beautiful and clean and extremely enjoyable. The food is relatively inexpensive for an amusement park and the themed countries are so much fun. The park offers a great deal for VA residents during the summers for around $55/person for the entire summer. GREAT PLACE!
We went to Busch Gardens a few years ago and I was thoroughly impressed! It is an amusement park but with a beautiful setting. There was plenty for the whole family to do. The best part is they offer free military admission once a year. I hope they continue to offer that! We had a blast and would love to visit again if ever in the area.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg is one of the best theme parks I have ever visited. The rides are great, the park is nicely maintained and the food is awesome! The food is expensive in comparision to other theme parks, but the quality is so much better! There are several restaraunts located within the park.
Busch Gardens tickets are a little expensive, but worth the price, especially if you love theme parks!!
Busch Gardens theme park has been named the most beautiful park for the past 20 years.
There is a great deal of shade at the park which is definitely a relief during the summer months.
We have been to Busch Gardens many times, and we will be returning many, many times in the future.
Busch Gardens offers a beer tasting, but if you are interested you will need to make reservations in advance.
The budweiser horses & dalmations are on-site.
There are many large roller coasters, water rides, and small rides for the youngsters. The park is a true joy!!
This park has something for everyone! There is a great childrens section for the younger ones and big roller coasters for the older ones. We went to every show they offered and planned our day around these. It was a nice break for everyone and a way to get some air conditioning during the hot summer. The food is expensive so make sureyou eat a big breakfast before heading there. Guest relations may have some coupons for certain resturants, so its worth it to ask.
My husband and I recently visited Christmas Town at Busch Gardens for the first time. We brought along our two year old daughter, and my mother who was visiting from out of town. I could not believe the fun, excitement and joy we all shared. From the lights, to the carolers, even the rides that were available that night, everything was perfect! Be aware there is a firework display on December 30th (the final night of Christmas Town) and there will be heavy parking and longer waits at the rides, but it is fun for the whole family!
Growing up my family always visited Busch Gardens often and we had season passes every year. Now as a married adult with two children we have season passes as well. This park is great for children very young just beginning to walk and old alike. They have something for everyone. As any park the food is expensive so we try to bring our lunch or supper and eat in the parking lot. Your family will have a blast at Busch Gardens!
This is a great park for all ages. There are plenty of roller coasters for your older dare devils and great children's play area for the not so tall ;) There are lots of great places to eat when you need a break from all the action. I highly recommend checking out this park if you are ever in the area!
Clean, friendly staff, lots of shade, plenty to do. Animals, rides, music, shows, small water park, lots of stores. Bring a stroller, though. Bring a towel and swimsuits for Sesame Street water park. Also it is a big hilly. The lines are short during week days.
I love Roller Coasters and I love this Park!! There are so many rides for you to enjoy, some fast, some tall, some scary, and some for the faint at heart. Truly a family park! Kiddie rides and lots of places to sit and observe, if that is what you prefer. There are shuttles to take you to the parking lot and lots of extra activities that wouldn't necessarily be considered rides. There is a water park section as well and for the price, you get your money's worth here! I would recommend to any park enthusiast!
They have a lot to do in this park. They have roller coasters for the older kids, and they have a little play place for the little ones. My daughter is 5 and she is 42 inches tall so she was able to do quite a bit. It was a hot sunny day and they even turned on water and sprinklers and we had so much fun running through it. I would suggest bringing a change of clothes.
This park has BEAUTIFUL architecture and landscaping. However, it's no Disney! Very limited rides. There are 4 roller coasters and 2 children's areas. Each section is divided by "countries". There is an Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, France, and Germany.
FABULOUS! My family and I went several times when I was younger, and my husband and I went while on our honeymoon. It's one of our favorite theme parks. The Loch Ness Monster is my absolute favorite roller coaster anywhere! There are some great kiddie rides here, too!
We had so much fun at this theme park! The rides are exciting. The food is delicious (I still dream about those Belgian waffles). The entertainment is top notch. The tickets are pricey, but you could easily spend an entire day at Busch Gardens. Warning: wear comfortable shoes- you'll be doing a LOT of walking!
At least that's what their brochure says, and having been there this past August, I would most definitely agree. In addition to being an amusement park, this place is also flush with beautiful gardens and attractive decorations. It feels like more than just a place full of rides and fooderies.
We took our 3 kids, ages 10, 8 and 4 and there was more than enough for each of them to do. My husband and I did find ourselves splitting up a lot to give each of them a chance to do what best interested them, but it was enjoyable. I took my little guy to the Sesame Street play area, which he loved since we live near Sesame Place in PA and he has been there many times. He loved all of the water play areas and smaller rides. My older two liked to be able to ride the log flume and some of the bigger rides and roller coasters.
This is a big theme park so be prepared to do a lot of walking. We took a stroller that we were free to use for a child or our stuff (half the time our older kids wanted to be driven around!). We ate in the Italian area, and the food was good and they even had live entertainment.
We didn't see everything in the one day that we were here, but my kids loved what they did see. We went all over the place and tried to go to the places they seemed to be especially excited about. I have great memories of this place and you will too. It's really worth going to the world's most beautiful theme park!
