"Not sure it's worth the drive"
If you are headed to Dawsonville for an apple picking/pumpkin picking adventure, you might as well stop. But don't go out of your way just for the pumpkins.
While it's free to enter and roam about the pumpkins, or have a picnic by the creek, the main form of entertainment - the tractor ride - does come at a price (around $3-4 pp).
The grounds can be quite crowded in the fall including a long line for the tractor ride. Mid-week visits are recommended if you can manage. But, call ahead to be sure the tractor rides will be an option.

"Pumpkin Farm Perfection"
If you are looking for action/adventure, this may not be for you. The only ride is a tractor-pulled hay ride with a rest stop at the animatronic pumpkins and a drive by "the bear".
However, if you are looking for a pumpkin (decorative or for cooking), gourds, pumpkin bread and homemade, canned jellies and jams, this is THE place to go.
This property is very clean, with a lot of well-maintained porta-poties and a sanitation station.
The picnic area by a running creek is gorgeous and shady. Pack a lunch, pick up some snacks and a drink in the covered shop. Maybe even take some popcorn-on-the-cob home for family movie night!
Recommended for adults, small kids and those interested in decorative gourds or good-sized Halloween jack-o-lanterns.

Free to enter. Hayride is $3 for kids and $4 for adults. Other spending will depend on what you want to buy.

Although their website lists their address as 4801 Highway 52 in Dawsonville, GA 30534, my GPS couldn't find that address.
Others have complained that they don't get a signal on their cell phones and cell-phone based GPS systems.
We used 15 Burts Pumpkin Farm Road, Dawsonville GA 30534 and my Magellan got us there without a problem.
