"Steam, Sulfur & Bubbling Mud pots"

Easy 3 mile roundtrip hike with a grade of only about 300 feet.  The hike is along an exposed ridge which provide beautiful views of the park.  You'll be able to smell the sulfuric hot springs before you reach them.  A long wooden footbridge has been built to keep you on the trail and out of trouble.  From the wooden boardwalk, you can view the boiling mud pots and fumaroles.  The kids are always fascinated by the story of Mr. Bumpass, as well as the mud pots, hot springs and fumaroles.  They are not so impressed by the smell, but it does bring about some laughter! We always come prepared with plenty of water, hats, sunscreen, snacks and layers so that we are prepared for anything that might come our way.
