"Great place to rest your feet"

We stopped at Bryant Park a couple of times during our recent trip to NYC. The first time was early in the morning before checking into our apartment. We picked up some pastries at the Craft food kiosks and sat at the tables near the fountain. The second time was during the busy weekday lunch rush, where we had a more difficult time finding an available table. Still, it was interesting to be amongst the local NY work crowd. After walking around the City, we really appreciated being able to sit outdoors and relax a little. Although there was a cute little carousel, the highlight for my toddler son was the fountain. The highlight for me was the super clean and fancy bathrooms, complete with granite countertops, flower vases, and wood-panelled walls. I've never seen a nicer public park restroom! There was no changing table, however, but the nice Park cleaning attendant removed the flower vase from the counter and allowed us to change diapers there.

"Midtown Meetup"

Great place in the warmer months to meet up and stretch your legs.  While there is no playground, there is a beautiful little carousel.  It is a great place to meet up with friends or the party you might be traveling with and let the kids run around on the big grassy area for a while.  It is centrally located behind the library and close to Grand Central Station.

"a mini oasis in midtown"

A nice splash of greenery in the heart of the concrete jungle! A nice carousel ride for children in the middle of it (41st st entrance) and movies in the summer with a huge screen! come early to get  a good spot! Love the iceskating and christmas fair in the winter! A nice spot for the kids to run around after perusing the offerings at the New York Public Library next door!

"Bryant Park"

A good place to rest and recharge during your trip to NYC.  Not really a destination in itself, unless you are interested in the annual fashion show (during July?).  Bryant Park is just west (or behind) the main entrance to the Main Library.  The park used to host vagrants but Manhattan has cleaned it up to be very welcoming for tourists.  The greenery is a nice contrast to most of NYC's "concrete jungle."  There are loose park chairs to pull up and rest on.  Also, kiosks for refreshments are available.

"Bryant Park"

Bryant Park is a great park located right in mid-town.  It offers different things at different times of the year.  There's ice-skating the winter, a holiday fair near christmas and a carousel in the summer.  Summer concerts (for Good Morning America) are held there in the summer time as well as movie nights.  A great place to bring your kids too with lots to do.  Very accessible by subway.
