Extended hours in the summer until 6pm.
We went there for the Sakura Festival in May, but there weren't many cheery blossoms yet. The gardens are really crowded and the security people are very strict about not sitting o the grass. Overall a nice garden, but maybe not so fun for kids under 1 or 2. They did have some kid activities, but appropriate only for kids that were 3 or older.
A lot of trees grow in Brooklyn, but perhaps the most beautiful ones grow in this urban oasis. With the finest cherry blossom gardens outside of Japan, a spectacular 5,000-plant rose garden, and the largest collection of bonsai trees in the country, this is a little slice of paradise. The Conservatory encloses a rain forest and a cacti-filled desert, and the Children’s Garden is world-class.
