After retreating at the Battle of Brandywine, George Washington’s troops moved on to camp at Valley Forge. At Brandywine Battlefield Park, you can tour the house where Washington and Lafayette set up their headquarters. The visitor center offers an audiovisual introduction to the park, along with maps for a self-guided driving tour that includes twenty-eight historic points of interest. A reenactment of the battle is held every September. There is a museum shop, and picnic areas are available.
