This is a gorgeous beach. You pay to park (like most places on Sanibel) $2 an hour. This beach never seems crowded, probably because it is away from most of the hotels and condos. It is a bit of a walk from the parking area (quarter mile or so), so you won't want to be running back and forth to your car. Warm water, but can be rough.
After tiring of the beaches near our hotel, we took a short drive out to Bowman's Beach. For two hours, we were the only persons on it. The water can be a little rough, so watch the little ones, but the shelling is great. We brought a picnic lunch and enjoyed it at some clean park tables. Very enjoyable.
The island’s most secluded and shelly beach, it has picnic tables, restrooms, shoers, and shady trees, but no lifeguards. Like all of Sanibel’s beaches, it is maintained in its natural state.
