My oldest had a blast! We went on a mommy and son date and he couldn't have had a better time. We laughed, he cried a little, and he got to have so much fun without breaking any of my furniture! I would definitely go back but it is only a place I feel comfortable bringing my oldest, at least 6 years old and up. When we went we had a blast and we saw lots of older children with just their friends and no moms or dads. I think this place has a laid back atmosphere with rides and attractions for any age to enjoy. Some of the attractions and rides were obviously only for big kids and I wouldn't pay the entrance fee to just bring my little girl. Overall I would go back but again a lot of walking and snack breaks but a lot of fun! The food prices were a little high but my son and I had lunch and I just brought water and snacks for us to eat throughout the day.
My kids often pester me with the question, "when can we go to Boomers again??" They love it! I have found many coupons in the newspaper, online, or in the local clipper magazine that help with the prices of mini golf. On one visit, we had a "play all day" ticket and we enjoyed all the rides and go carts we could handle. Our kids, (4,6) loved every single part of it and we laughed along with them on the rides and go carts.
We always find it difficult to make it through the arcade and the token games to get outside with our kids, so we usually have to have a plan. Such as "one game each" or some such idea. I've been disappointed in the arcade of late because they seem to resemble Vegas slot machines. There are lots of pure luck machines to see how many tokens or tickets you can win. But besides all that, this is a very fun place to play.
As far as miniature golf type parks go, this one is pretty good. There is a bunch of courses to pick from and golf is unlimited. There are also rides (mostly for the younger set) and go karts with tracks for little kids and big kids. There are even batting cages. The thing that bothers me is every activity is assigned a point value and you buy cards worth points. The bigger the dollar value of the card, the more value you get. And the value jumps up significantly. Its the difference between paying $8 for golf or $4. Not cool.
This indoor/outdoor facility has more than six acres of family entertainment, including miniature golf, batting cages, laser tag, bumper boats, a rock climbing wall, and a state-of-the-art 25,000-square-foot video arcade with Galaxian virtual-reality challenge machines, where up to six people compete against the computer. The Palace Playland is specifically created for the younger set, with a large squishy maze.
