"Imax"

I assume by now that most people have the concept of an Imax theater. This is pretty much a standard Imax theater. They offer a variety of films. It is nice to do with the museum. Check the website ahead of time for the movies playing and the showtimes.

"3D"

This place is very nice and clean.  It's just like any other IMAX experience I guess you could say.  I saw Inception here and the sound system alone made it a more enjoyable time.  The screen is HUGE so I would recommend sitting in the very back.

Get there early to get in the front of the line so you can get a good seat! Some people will be there an hour or more before if the movie is popular enough...(with cards to entertain them for the wait)

I suggest bringing your own snacks in your purse as they only have typical movie drinks and boxes of candy that are way over priced.

"Learn about Texas on the BIG screen"

While visiting the Bob Bullock State History Museum, we purchased tickets to see Texas: The Big Picture on the IMAX screen.  This 45-minute film gives a good idea of life in Texas.  It was informative and fun, and the kids had no problem sitting through it.  This film is shown at 10:00 daily, and then later in the day feature films are shown.  (Avatar was the feature when we were there.)

The IMAX added to our history museum experience.  It cost around $30 for two adults and three children.  (Our youngest was free.)

"Bob Bullock Imax Theater"

The Bob Bullock Imax Theater is a very pleasant theater.  The imax screen is HUGE. I've been there many times with my family and we've all had a fun experience but I think it depends on which movie you choose. The best part about this theater is that you can sit anywhere in the room and you will get a great view. It is usually very full so be there early to get seats that you want. It is a good experience but if you've been to an imax theater before, there's nothing special about this one, it's just like all the other's.

"Great place for whole family"

"The Texas Spirit Theater is the biggest multimedia special effects theater of its kind in Texas. Located on the second floor of The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, this 200-seat venue boasts three screens, fixed sets, and several thrilling special effects to create a truly unique experience." This is a 4D theater so you see, feel and experience the movie. Really fun for kids and adults! Museum is constantly changing and updating their displays so you can visit over and over and see new exhibits.
