"Fun for free!"

Situated on the Schuykill river, Boathouse Row offers great views of all the college row houses. If you are able to get down there at night you can see all the houses lit up with white lights. The kids loved it because it reminded them of Christmas.  You can spend the day walking around and maybe take a trip over to Fairmount Park or the Art Museum. Best part about this place is that it is free.

"Fun day stroll, beautiful night drive"

We enjoy boathouse row both day and night.  For a day trip you can combine a walk down Kelly Drive and boathouse row with a trip to the Art Museum.  At night it is beautiful to see each boathouse lit up with colorful lights and reflecting on the Schuykill.

"Fun with the Family"

A lovely place for a stroll along the Schuylkill River, Boathouse Row consists of twelvenineteenth-century buildings where Philadelphia’s rowing clubs keep their boats. The outline of each boathouse is trimmed with lights to create a luminous view of the boathouses from across the river at night.

"Nice views, nice bike path"

If you're looking for something active to do on a nice day, don't miss a walk or a bike ride along boathouse row in Fairmont Park.  Bike rentals are available in season at Lloyd Hall (1 Boathouse Row).  Lloyd hall is also a public boathouse.  The bike path winds along the Schuylkill River and is particularly picturesque in the Fall.  The bike path can be very crowded on weekends so if you're looking to escape the crowds, park further into the park.
