"Fun with the Family"

For a truly remarkable day that is full of experiences unique to Florida, head for Biscayne National Underwater Park. The park comprises 181,500 acres, 95 percent of which is underwater. The remaining acreage dots the seas with a cluster of keys that form a chain, which heads the Florida Keys.
Mangrove and magnificent coral habitatmake up the underwater portion. A variety of excursions range from the tame to the adventuresome: glass-bottom boating, canoeing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Advance reservations are recommended.
You can see much of the same marine life here as you would in the Keys, Bahamas, and Caribbean. The beautiful Convoy Point Visitors Center provides exhibits, breezy picnic grounds, and a nature trail.
For primative overnights, you can camp on Elliott or Boca Chica Key, which are part of Biscayne National Park and are accessible only by boat. Facilities include showers, restrooms, and drinking water on Elliott Key only. You must haul your own trash off the island.
