"Big Tree Loop Trail, Tiger Mountain"

One of the best kid-friendly hikes in the urban Seattle area, Big Tree Loop takes you through Douglass Fir and old growth forest. Part of the trail is even wheelchair accessible. The highlight is Big Tree, at the 1 mile mark. The entire walk is manageable for even small children, and if yours are anything like mine, they'll love running ahead to hide behind the many tree trunks lining the path to jump out at you!

From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to High Point, Exit 20, just east of Issaquah. From the off-ramp, turn right and quickly turn right again, onto SE 79th Street. This is the entrance to High Point trailhead, located 0.5 mile down the gravel road. When the parking lot is full (most weekends), vehicles must park below the No Parking signs, close to the I-90 off-ramp.
