Big Bend National Park is remote, huge, and spectacular. The 800,000 acres encom-pass the Rio Grande, the Chihuahuan Desert, and the Chisos Mountains, offering three very different ecosystems and a multitude of plant and animal life for your faily to marvel at. The park is as accessible as you want it to be, with paved roads to many scenic areas, dirt roads to others, four-wheel-drive routes to backcountry loctions, and miles and miles of hiking trails ranging from easy walks to strenuous treks. Rangers present daily educational programs at amphitheaters at Rio Grande Village, Cottonwood Campground, and the Chisos Basin. You’ll find weather forecasts and road accessibility posted at all ranger stations. The park has many campsites and pic-nic areas, two gas stations, three grocery stores, and motel rooms in the basin area.

"Absolutely Beautiful"

We went here last summer on family vacation and I can safely say that I am glad that we did. I mean, this place is magnificent. The landscape is breathtaking, from cliff to canyon, from desert to oasis. There are many animals roaming about, some dangerous - so you have to watch the smaller children closely. Come here for the most relaxing, mind-pleasing adventure you will have for many years to come. It's that great.

"Interesting landscape"

Want to see the texas desert at it's best then this is your place.  They don't have much to offer but there is a motel and campground.  They have a restaraunt and bar and you can buy a can of beer and give it to a beer drinking goat.  It's quite a site to see ......

There is tons of hiking, fishing and great adventures to be had.  It can get very hot in the summer so pack cool clothes and tons of sunscreen.
