Tips: There is no lunchroom. There is a small snack area with vending machines. We brought our lunches and ate outside, since the weather was nice, but we did have trouble with wasps. Also, take advantage of using the lockers for your personal belongings. My daughter's lunch bag was lost for most of the day. We had left it in the coatroom, and it was gone at lunch. It reappeared in the bathroom at the end of the day. We believe some child picked it up and walked around with it during the day, even eating some of the food (it was a Princess bag).
This is also a great place to take your kids especially in the winter months. The pricing is very reasonable and they get to play while they learn. What more could a mom ask for, your child is learning instead of being bored. This is located in down town milwaukee so be sure to bring your stroller because you can also visit many other things while you are in town. The kids are already begging me to come back here and like I said well worth it.
My family visited the Betty Brinn Museum about a year ago and the whole family including the adults loved it. The museum is open Monday through Saturday 9am till 5pm and on Sundays noon till 5pm. The admission price is very affordable at $6 for age one and older and under one is free. The museum offers many exhibits such as its artastic which is for pre-schoolers and older children to explore the visual, language and performing arts. Khols healthy kids which allows the child to jump into an interactive board game to promote a healthy lifestyle. They also have a train, cattle wagon, caboose, Bettys busy backyard that is for early infants and toddlers to stimulate early development and many for exhibits. The Museum also offers many different special exhibits throughout the year that are only there for a limited amount of time. I would recommend the Betty Brinn Museum to any family that is looking for a good educational experience for children of any age.
Between the pretend play, very cool golf ball track/loops, and indoor playground, there are opportunities for kids to learn and play during the cold, winter days. It is pretty expensive, but there has been a coupon for a buy one, get one in the entertainment book. The pretend play area is amazing! My almost 2 year old LOVED the store! There is also an area for very small children including a play area for infants.
What an awesome place to take your kids! Not only can they have fun but they can learn A LOT! We have taken our 4 kids here quite a few times, and they never get bored with it! A very clean environment and very friendly staff. Parking is an issue but we always find a spot! I do wish they had a parking lot of some kind but I understand its in downtown Milwaukee and space is limited!
We love to take the kids to Betty Brinn. It is located right downtown Milwaukee close to the Lake, Art musuem, and Discovery World, so you can visit many places in a day. The musuem itself has many activities for the kids to do and are constantly updating their activities. The price is also reasonable.
This place has sooo much for young kids to play with and learn about. The grocery store and construction home are so cool. there is even an area for babies to play in. Try going early in the day, as there are lots of field trips. The Mr. Potato head exhibit is also really neat.Be sure to use the coupon from the entertainment book!
The Betty Brinn Museum has an amazing amount of activities and play places for kids of all ages to explore. All the activities are educational and are so vast that your kids will learn something new every time they visit. This is a great place to spend cold, winter afternoons!
I have only visited the Betty Brinn Museum 3 times now and each time there has been a few new activities for my child to play. It is a fun place to go and a great place for your child to use their imagination!!! Go to the Brinn museum and watch your child grow!
My 4 year old enjoys going to the Betty Brinn Museum. It is smaller than I expected (but I've only been to one outside of Chicago and it was very big). The price reflects its size. Would be nice if it had a small restaurant or cafe. it does have an area that sells snacks (and sandwiches occasionally). The area around it is more upscale so it's hard to find a restaurant for a quick lunch.
This was great for the kids and it was affordable. Together we have 3 kids under 7 and they all enjoyed it. The Mr. Potatohead exhibit is fantastic. The place is clean and offers a lot of unique experiences. We have been to other kids museums where half the exhibits are broken. That is not the case here.
We've gone to Betty Brin a half a dozen times or so now (1 hr south) and my daughter loves it. It's very engaging for children. They have multiple exhibits that all are fun and educational at the same time.
The location can be a little hard to find. You park in the parking garage and ride the elevator to the museum.
It's reasonalbe in price and definitely worth looking into for your children!
We absolutely love going to children's museums. A friend in Milwaukee was going to meet us at Betty Brinn one day so we decided to drive 1 1/2 hours to get there. We spent the entire day and the kids still wanted more time there!
Compared to some museums we've been to, BB is small. Parking is on street (feed the meter every 2 hours!) or in a garage that we just could not find! The museum is also easy to miss. It is in a building with other businesses. It is right by the lakefront, near the large orange sculpture.
Inside the museum has a neat TV studio feature in which children can pretend to be newscasters, meteorologists, cameramen, and more! I think my kids spent the most time in this area. It was really fun for them, and fun to watch.
There is also a bank in which children can be a teller, play with an ATM machine and even a drive-up window! This is adjacent to the post office, complete with a conveyor belt, and the mechanic's shop. Then there's the grocery store with a deli counter, floral department and more. It had a lot for such a small area.
This is one half of the museum. The other half has, among other exhibits, a stage for the kids to put on plays, a puppet theatre, and an interactive conductor stage where children (and adults) can try their hand at conducting a virtual orchestra. Very cool, esp. because one of the 3 songs on the looping video is from Star Wars.
There is also a small art studio and a really cool science exhibit called My Body Works in which children can learn more about how their bodies work.
