This park offers something for every age.
Parking is free, which is fantastic, but it did take us quite a long time to find a spot on a crowded weekend, so come prepared to spend some time searching.
Once parked, you have the option of tons of entertainment. There are the obvious carnival rides & roller coaster (which you must purchase tickets to ride), but there are also smaller attractions such as mini-golf, laser tag and a ropes adventure.
My family's favorite activity was actually free. We grabbed a spot in the sand at the WaveHouse and watched as kids, teens and adults tried their luck on the wave machines. You would be surprised how entertaining this was. The sand floor under our feet provided distraction when our 2 and 4-year olds got bored at watching the surfers, and we pulled out some cups and they made sand castles right there while we enjoyed the entertainment.
We then took a walk on the board walk, people watched and ate some ice cream cones with our feet in the sand and the waves crashing ahead of us.
If you can get your kids to not beg, whine and plead to ride every ride, this park is a fun, inexpensive way to enjoy a family afternoon.
And if you can figure out how to get your kids not to beg, whine and plead, please message me :)
belmont park is sooo much fun. its a nice little fun zone, with rollercoasters, games, shopping, fun and more. We like going to the kiddie rides and also stopping to eat some ice cream. Kids of all ages will love this. Its a nice getaway for the family. They sell wrist band for all day rides as well. The wave house is fun to stop in and watch people test the wave while sipping on a cold drink. or stop by to get an ice cream cone and walk along the beach
We had fun here! My 2 year old was only able to go on 2 rides. My 4 yearold was only able to go on 3 rides. The mini golf is really cool because of the black light but I would only recommend doing that for 4+yr olds. The maze was fun but same thing, for older then 4. In the Summer its VERY busy so be prepared for the lack of parking.
Belmont park can be a lot of fun for the little ones. For the ones that are a little more adventurous, they can try the Belmont Roller coaster. Make sure to check around to look for coupons for the roller coaster, and the surrounding games. The place has an arcade, laser tag, and other fair like games. There's some food vendors. Right next to it is the Wave house, a man made wave.
This is a fun place to take the kids and unwind a bit, but you might have to untighten your purse strings as well! This places follows a typical beach boardwalk type of style. There a "carnival" rides and a game area. There are charaterist, face painters and hair wrappers but everything is priced for the trapped tourist. There is also a little shopping here, but the good thing is if you get tired of the park you can just steer the kids toward the beach which is actually pretty nice right here.
One interesting thing to stop in and check out is the wave house located near by. They have a man made wave for boogie boarding and surfing. This is a lot of fun to watch, but I must admit I have never tried it personally!
Belmont Park is a fun place to visit in San Diego. It is located on Mission Beach and has a wooden roller coaster that my kids loved! There is a carousel and a few other rides, shops with beach items and souvenirs. We loved to watch the people surfing on a simulator that produced waves with curls!
Fun, fun, and more fun. Take a ride on the Giant Dipper, a completely restored and rowdy 2,600-foot-long wooden roller coaster, first put into service in 1925 (current cost is $5.00). Then take another dip in the Plunge, the world’s largest indoor swimming pool. Pirate’s Cove is an indoor playground designed for children ages two to twelve, accompanied by parents. The arcades and Virtual Reality Zone will send everyone for another loop.
The kids rides are fantastic. Lots of carnival type fun food for kids. Our kids love the super huge hawaiian shaved ice snowcones.
Our kids (ages 5 and 3) really liked the small boat rides (they just go in a circle).
The cheap sunglasses at the kiosks are fun to try on. There are good shops for the adults too.
There is also a really cool stationary wave machine that is fun to watch.
Mission Beach might have wild reputation, but our family has enjoyed many years of annual trips and Belmont Park is one of the highlights!
