Belle Meade Plantation is a 30 acre historic site 6 miles west of Nashville. The centerpiece of the property is the Belle Meade mansion built in 1853. The mansion is open for tours daily.
Last tour starts daily at 4:00 PM. The Historic Belle Meade Plantation is closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and the 3rd week of January.
Tour the 30 acres of history with a tour guide dressed in the period fashion. See the way they lived back in 1853! Not sure that this is the best place to take a toddler - stairs and things that you are not always supposed to touch, but there is a ton of area outside to wander and stretch your legs. They now offer a weekly program geared just for toddlers that might be worth checking out. Great for school aged children!
