The Beecher's store is really fun to see -- at least once, that is. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because although it's great when you're there, it's not a place families are going to return to again and again. The cheese factory is behind enclosed glass, and fun to watch the process. Plenty of cheeses and crackers to sample, and a lot of gift-wrapped fancy packages to purchase. Overall, if you're a Beecher's fan, you ought to at least visit once.
So you've been to Pike Place to see fish flying. But have you walked down the street to see cheese curdling?! This cheese monger is unique because you can watch the cheese being made in large vats through picture windows both inside and outside the shop. But the kicker is to grab one of the sought-after milk container stools (avoid lunch hour!) and eat some outrageously rich (and pricey!) mac-and-cheese. Don't worry. It's so filling you can share a tub. Or how about the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich! Plenty to buy in the shop. And they have interesting displays that explain cheese making. Educational, yummy, and entertaining. (And a bathroom in the back, too).
