Barefoot Landing is great for adults, but not what I would recommend for children. There were some turtles and gators in the water that the kids enjoyed, but that was about it. The only thing I would recommend is having your picture taken with a tiger or monkey. It costs about $60 dollars, but it's all for saving the animals. It's worth it because it is way awesome to think we held a real tiger! My son is terrified of dogs, but he was so excited to hold the monkey and the tiger. It was worth it for that experience alone.
Barefoot Landing is located in the Myrtle Beach SC area. This is mainly shopping and dining in a upscale setting. There are shops of all kinds, to appeal to all ages. For families traveling I suggest visiting Barefoot landing mid-trip, it gets the kiddos out of the non-stop sun they get at the beach, and proves for a relaxing day for all!
Really fun putt putt golfing, movie theater, fun shops, yummy food and snacks! And if you go on the right night there's a fireworks show. We spent several more hours there than we intended but had a really good time. We will certainly go back next time we're at Myrtle. Kids will enjoy really cool putt putting, a movie theater, and all kinds of specialty shops.
This is more of an adult type of place. It is mainly shopping and restaurants. The shops don't really have much appeal unless you are looking for something unique. If you need a good restaurant though, The House of Blue is excellent. It does take a long time to get the food, but is because it is homemade. However, it is worth the wait and very kid friendly. The kids can draw on the butcher paper while you wait on your food.
It's fun there if you have older children or your on vacation with friends or your spouse but it's more laid back there and they have more "normal" everyday stores then beachy stores. They DO however have a store there called Anything Joes that specializes in writing what you want on whatever they have!! But they do have one now at Broadway at the Beach!! Barefoot DOES have really good restaurants around there!
This is a nice place to go and spend some time walking around. The shops are all like novelty shops that are overpriced but its nice to look in them. The had an animal exhibit when we went and we got our pics taken with a monkey, and baby tigers and a huge tiger they brought out also.
While visiting Myrtle beach we took our kids to Barefoot Landing. It was an enjoyable place to spend the day. There are many shops and eateries there to keep young and old entertained. Our favorite attraction at Barefoot landing was the Alligator Adventure. Our kids had a blast there walking through and seeing the animals. They enjoyed watching when the alligators were fed. It was quite hot the day we were there so we walked through the misting stations they have set up throughout the park in order to cool off.
My family spent our vacation in Myrtle Beach this year. On our last day there, we decided to make a trip to Barefoot Landing. It was alot more than I expected it to be! Once we got there, my kids, ages 4 & 7 spotted a huge carousel. After that we made our way to the Mirror Maze and Laser Game. They then played on a gigantic blow up slide, and did the Euro Bungy. Last we played a carnival game where they won stuffed animals, and my oldest rode a mechanical bull! Fun times! Before making our trip back to the car, we stopped in an old fashioned Root Beer shop. The man working at the counter was so incredibly nice. He gave our family a free fresh baked chocolate chip cookie and some samples of freshly made caramel. For our next vacation, we wil definitely go back there! 5 stars!
This was a really neat place to shop and eat dinner. The shops are great but a little pricey. We ate dinner at Johnny Rockets which was so much fun. Every so often, the servers all stop and dance to the songs on the jukeboxes. For some inexpensive souvenirs, check out Black Market Minerals. The kids always find something to take home and something for their friends in this eclectic little store.
This is an outdoor shopping area with resturants and some attractions connected by a boardwalk area. The resturants and shops are very very busy, if you want to go to eat, make a reservation or be prepared to wait. Also, check it out online before you go to discern what is worth the money to you and what is not so you can talk to the kids before their eyes see all they want to spend your money on. Also, check out what nights they have fireworks and street performers.
