Just behind Kaahumanu Church sits Bailey House Museum. It’s situated in the old Bailey House, named after the former manager of the Wailuku Sugar Company, Edward Bailey. It was built in the mid-1800s and contains the biggest collection of Hawaiian artifacts in all of Maui. You’ll find displays of Hawaiian tapa (a cloth made from the bark of mulberry trees) and quilts, lots of memorabilia from the sugar days, and an extensive exhibit on missionary lifestyles.
